Asking for help is hard. Today I feel a little bit empty and a little bit like I just can’t do it on my own. And that is really hard for me to swallow.

I sit here waiting on God – unsure of how He will answer.

O LORD, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
(Psalm 139:1-3)

It’s seems like these words are celebration for David – the Psalm is set to music and has many words of celebration.

I want to sing this in celebration. This is truth.

Thank you to those who donated and those who served us for our adoption garage sale! Thank you to those who showed up and those that cheered us on at home. It was an amazing day and weekend. Greg and I could not have done that on our own.

If you want to follow us on this journey of adoption go to www.adoptionisgood.com.  I will continue to update this blog on our life and musings but the website above will be strictly about our adoption.

We are so thankful that we get adopt.  This kid will be lucky be a part of this community we are in just like we are so thankful for our community. But we are so lucky/thankful/blessed that we get to build a family this way. We pray all the time that we can eventually carry full term but we know that when we adopt and when we conceive both children will be the perfect way for us.  We hope that you feel the same way with us. We hope that you will love our multi-racial family.  We may look different and do things differently than most but we love that.  We are thankful we get to build a family this way.

Hey everyone!

Chance to get rid of some stuff. We are having a yard sale Saturday, October 8 and would love any donations in order to raise money for our adoption. If you want to donate anything that we can sell we will take it. If it requires a truck we will come and pick it up. Just email me and let me know: Jessica.Sykes4@gmail.com or gregesque@gmail.com.

Sorry I am behind the curve on updating my friends. We have been going at warp speed since June. We signed contracts in August – had our home study done in September and are now trying to get grants and loans as well as create a portfolio. We also traveled the Pacific Coast during this time. I promise there will be more updates to come. To be honest the paperwork, money and details of this are completely overwhelming and we don’t even know where to start or what to say.

We are excited and can’t wait to share more information with y’all. We have been exploring this for about 2 years and are excited to share this with our friends while to be honest completely terrified. Please pray for us!
